An hour walk or a 15-minute motorcycle ride will take you to Bgy Camandag – a barangay at the foot of the mountains and just along the main artery of Aganan River. It can be remembered that the landslide that took place in Iloilo due to Typhoon Frank emanated from the sudden gush and overflow of Aganan River.

Bgy. Camandag was buried in the landslide and was subsequently rebuilt in its old site (albeit several meters higher from the river).

The barangay is a popular stop over in Leon due to its proximity to several waterfalls which drains the water from the mountains to Aganan River.

According to our local guide, each waterfall was named after the poor soul it has claimed.

Hence, we can surmise that Imoy Falls was named after a person – a safety reminder for local and tourists alike.

Enjoy the cold and crystal clear water from these falls – enough to soothe away your stresses and provide relief from the tiring trekking.

Photos posted at this article are a combination of my travels to Bucari. My first trip is with Discovery Panay Island on August 2012, and the second trip is with my family this December 2015.
